Neck Pain Treatment
Neck pain is one of the most common complaints among athletes, gym-goers, and active individuals. Anyone who has suffered with neck pain knows how debilitating it can be. Slight movement of the neck can be incredibly painful, especially when the injury is recent. Simple activities, that we take for granted, such as changing lanes while driving, reading your phone, or watching a movie can become monumental tasks.
The neck is one of the most highly mobile structures in our body, which is why it is easily susceptible to injury. There are many types of conditions that affect the neck, including whiplash, torticollis, muscle strains, ligament sprains, bulging/herniated discs, and nerve impingement itself, caused by any of the above.
As the condition becomes chronic, the neck becomes stiffer as a result of accelerated degenerative changes in the discs and joints; in turn, the condition becomes progressively more challenging to treat. Neck pain is one of the leading causes of disability in the United States and is closely associated with headaches.
What Causes Neck Pain?
The two most common causes of neck pain are spinal misalignment and/or dysfunction as a result of trauma, such as car crashes or falls, and improper ergonomics, such as texting, bad computer workstation setup, or sleep positions. However, degenerative joint disease can also be a compounding factor and an additional pain generator.
How Do We Evaluate Neck Pain?
When you visit Vivify Chiropractic, we don’t just treat your pain with therapies such as ultrasound or muscle stim. We perform a physical examination and x-rays, if indicated, to determine the underlying cause of your neck pain, so that we have the best chance of not simply getting temporary relief, but long-lasting correction.
What Do We Do To Treat Neck Pain?
Based on your exam findings, the ideal protocol for maximum resolution may include specific chiropractic adjustments, by hand, or by using gentle impulse instruments, corrective exercises in-office and at home, and ergonomic lifestyle recommendations.

There is no catch to this offer. One of our core values is that we don’t push. A consultation is just a conversation; not a commitment. We recognize that choosing a new doctor can be nerve-racking and we want to ensure you’re as comfortable as possible prior to engaging in any assessments or treatments. The complimentary consultation allows you the opportunity to talk with one of the doctors to find out exactly if we can help; if so, how, and if not, we’ll recommend you to the best provider in the community who we think can.
